Instagram & Facebook Data Deletion
Last updated: September 22, 2026
Overview
Brika's Instagram giveaway comment picker has a "Deep" mode that connects to your own Instagram Business account through Facebook Login for Business, so it can read comments on your own posts using the official Meta Graph API. This page explains exactly what data that connection stores, how to delete it, and how long deletion takes. It exists to meet Meta Platform Terms' requirement that every app using the Graph API offer a public, working data deletion process.
What We Store From Instagram and Facebook
When you connect an Instagram Business account to Deep mode, we store:
- Your Facebook Page ID and Instagram Business account ID, plus the account's username and profile picture, so we know which account you connected.
- Your long-lived Meta access token, encrypted at rest and readable only by our servers, used to call the Graph API on your behalf (never sent to your browser or any third party).
- Comments fetched for a giveaway draw (username, comment text, and timestamp) while you're running a draw. These are deleted automatically 30 days after being fetched unless they were part of a draw you saved as a result (see below).
- Saved giveaway results you explicitly chose to keep: the winning comment, the rules you set, and entry counts, so you can prove a draw was run fairly.
- Your follower count on the day of a draw, so we can show you, and email you 7 days later, how many followers the giveaway brought. It is deleted automatically 60 days after the draw. Once you disconnect, we stop reading your follower count and send no further giveaway reports.
Delete Your Data In Brika
Go to Settings > Connected accounts > Disconnect and delete data while signed in to Brika. This immediately deletes your stored Meta access token, your Page/Instagram account link, and every raw fetched comment, and revokes Brika's permissions on your Meta account. This is the fastest way to delete your data and does not require contacting us.
Request Deletion By Email
If you can't access your Brika account, email [email protected] from the address on your account (or the email associated with the Instagram/Facebook account you connected) with the subject line "Instagram data deletion request," and we'll delete the data described above and confirm once it's done.
Remove Brika From Facebook
You can also remove Brika's access directly from Facebook, which notifies us automatically and triggers the same deletion: go to Settings > Business Integrations in your Facebook account settings, find Brika, and remove it.
What Isn't Deleted
Deleting your connection removes your access token, account link, and raw fetched comments, but does not take down giveaway result pages you already published and shared (for example, to prove a draw was fair). Those pages are your own published content, kept separately from the Instagram/Facebook data described above, and you can share their link with us at [email protected] if you'd like a specific one taken down. The draw-day follower count described above is also kept until it expires, 60 days after the draw, but is no longer used once you disconnect.
Deletion Timeline
Deletion triggered in-app or from Facebook (the two methods above) happens immediately, typically within a few minutes. Email requests are processed within 30 days. Raw fetched comments not saved into a result are deleted automatically on a rolling 30-day basis regardless of any other request.
